John Forsyth Gartner

John Forsyth Gartner of Belleville, Ontario, passed away on August 28, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on August 6, 1935, John is predeceased by his parents, Margaret Louise Forsyth and Kenneth Lambert Gartner (Kal), his brother Barry Gartner, his stepsister Diane Borowsky, and siblings-in-law Paul Henshaw, Harold, Faye Wood, and Connie Wood. He is survived by his stepfather Charles Robinson, his wife Barbara Joan Gartner (Wood), daughter Jackie Gartner-Schmidt, sister Nancy Henshaw, grandson Greg Schmidt, son-in-law Jeff Schmidt, sister-in-law Laura Gartner, and numerous nieces and nephews, including Sean (Sheri), Laura, Ray Gartner (Amy), Craig (Dawn), Steve Henshaw (Ambere), Dawn Harris (Terry), Marshall Wood (Rosemarie), and Wanda Quirk (Denny), as well as stepnephews Dave and Mike Borowsky. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Burke Funeral Home, located at 150 Church St, Belleville, ON K8N3B9.
