Theresa Jongerden

Theresa Jongerden passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, at the age of 95, at Albright Manor in Beamsville, Ontario. Born in Bellingwolde, Groningen, The Netherlands, as Trijntje to Harm and Zwaantje Vieregge, she was the youngest of 12 children and a survivor of WWII and tuberculosis. Theresa was married to Gerry for 49 years and was the mother of Harry, Diane, and Roger. She was also a grandmother to six and a great-grandmother to 11. Additionally, she was a foster mother to nearly 150 children through her work with Children's Aid. Theresa will be remembered by her family and friends for her loyalty and dedication. A funeral service will be held at Mountainview Christian Reformed Church in Grimsby, with visitation preceding the service. Theresa was a devoted member of her church community for over 70 years and found strength in her faith as she faced her final days.
