IRMA WITZMANN

Irma Witzmann passed away on April 6, 2026, at the age of 89 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Reinhard Witzmann, who predeceased her in 2007. Irma was also predeceased by her parents, Franz and Marie Eichinger, and siblings Maria Feuchtl, Franz Eichinger, and Erich Eichinger. She will be sadly missed by her sisters Frieda Pichler and Hilda Lischak, and Waltraud Hutter, as well as her godson Martin Schulz, longtime friend Charlotte Schulz, Ronald Fred Durstberger, and Herbert Maria Witzmann. Irma immigrated to Canada from Austria in 1957 at the age of 20 and married Reinhard in 1958. After working as a floral designer and owning her own florist shop, she retired in 1996. Irma and Reinhard retired to Barrie in 2001. Following Reinhard's passing in 2007, Irma continued to live a full life, traveling and making new friends. She was known for her beautiful floral designs and volunteered to decorate the lobby of her building for Christmas. Irma moved to the Waterford Retirement Home in August 2025, where she earned a reputation as a 'sweetheart.' A visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 11 a.m. until the time of service in the Chapel at 12 p.m., which will be livestreamed and recorded.
