EILEEN FRANCES HILDEBRANDT

Eileen Frances Hildebrandt (nee McCool) passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie, Ontario, surrounded by her family. Born in Montreal to Michael Francis McCool and Eileen Patricia Butler, Eileen was a proud Montrealer and Canadian. She built a life with her husband, Gordon William Hildebrandt, rooted in family, service, music, and community. Eileen is survived by her children, Audrey, Heather, Charlene, Sherry, Andrew, Trevor, and Mary-Anne, as well as her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, aunt, cousins, extended family, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon; her former husband, Joseph Gillis; her parents; her grandson, Wesley Hildebrandt; and her great-grandson, Tanner Joseph Closs-Gillis. A memorial gathering will be held at Murphy Funeral Home and Chapel in Pembroke on Friday, June 5th, from 9:30 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at St. Columba's Catholic Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Pembroke Community Choir or a local arts organization supporting community music in Eileen's memory.
