Yvonne Verna Cook

Yvonne Verna Cook of St. Catharines, Ontario, passed away on October 8, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on May 28, 1937, Yvonne lived a life surrounded by family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Albert, granddaughter Michelle Bolahan (Keith), parents Wilfred Mercey and Violet Mercey, parents-in-law Fred and Bertha Cook, siblings Charles Mercey (Florence) and Darlene Gilkinson (Roy), siblings-in-law June Watson (Ken), Marion Brohman (Bill), and Joyce Andrews (Fred), son-in-law Norman Kent, grandson Dawson Waytena, and nieces and nephews Charmaine, Lynn, Rochelle, Danny, and Christopher. Yvonne is survived by her children Kathy Kent (late Norman), Patricia Golob (Randy), Cheryl Hoad (Larry), and Steve Cook (Penny); her grandchildren Nicholas Kent (Valerie), Sandi Waytena (Matt), Kevin Clark (Kandace), Dwayne Clark (Laura), Thomas Hoad (Nicole), and Robert Hoad (Candace); her siblings Sheila Horst (Wayne) and Paul Mercey (Gwen); sister-in-law Mabel Pauli (Lloyd); friend Nelson Broderick (late Bertha); and her family, Avon and Yvonne. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the George Darte Funeral Home, located at 585 Carlton St, St. Catharines, ON L2M4Y1.
