Vera D.B. McCABE (nee Heath)

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Vera D.B. McCabe (nee Heath) on September 2, 2026, at the age of 84. Vera was the beloved wife of Max for 62 years and a proud mother to Rodney (Melissa) and Lisa. She cherished her role as grandmother to grandsons Dustin, Brenden, Patrick (Madie), Daulton (Mikaela), and great-grandson Brewer. Vera was predeceased by her daughter Melissa in 1980 and is survived by her sister Yvonne Heath, as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. Born in Beaumont South, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of Edmond and Effie Heath and had 16 siblings, of whom 15 predeceased her. Vera and Max began their life together in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, before moving to Ontario in 1964. A celebration of her life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on September 8, 2026, at Considerate Cremation and Burial Services, 26 Nihan Drive, St. Catharines. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army or the Canadian Cancer Society are appreciated.
