Shirley Gertrude Holmes

Shirley Gertrude Holmes (Gray) of St. Catharines, Ontario, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, at the age of 88, following a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Born on October 1, 1937, she was predeceased by her husband Eric Holmes, her daughter Cathryn Poolton, her granddaughter Elizabeth Ryckman, and her sister Alison Goffin. Shirley is survived by her stepchildren, Diane Holmes (Bruce Metcalf) and Derrick Holmes (Laurie Holmes), along with her grandchildren, Jeff Campbell, Courtney Campbell, Heather O'Malley (Holmes), and Lauren Lunn (Holmes). She is also remembered by her nephews, Frederick Goffin and Jeffrey Goffin, as well as extended family and many friends. A memorial gathering will take place on September 18, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Ina Grafton Gage Village, located at 413 Linwell Rd, St. Catharines, ON.
