Michael Jan Simon Wigcherink

Michael Jan Simon Wigcherink, born on November 13, 1951, in Windsor, passed away on March 10, 2026, at the age of 74, at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, surrounded by his family. He was the son of Betsy and the late Julian Wigcherink. Michael is survived by his children, Michael James, Kristina Louise, and Nicholas Jan Simon, as well as his grandchildren, Alyssa and Ella Darlington. He is also survived by his siblings, Ray and Margie Hopkins, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Michael was a former member of the Thames River Yacht Club and enjoyed various activities, including windsurfing, sailing, and racing. He was a skilled mechanic and built his first car at the age of 16. Michael worked at Ford's former Windsor Aluminum plant before retiring 24 years ago. A Celebration of Michael's Life will be held on April 4, 2026, at Aristo's Banquet & Catering in Chatham.
