Mary Lou Tye

It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Mary Lou Tye of Chatham, Ontario, who departed this life on October 16, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on October 9, 1937, she was predeceased by her husband Jim, her daughter Deb, her great grandchild Daeton, her parents Thomas Busteed and Gladys Busteed, and her sisters Elda Pickering, Dorothy Gardiner, Irene Lee, and Ruth Simpson. Mary Lou is survived by her sons Kevin, Dave, and Tom (Crystal); her grandchildren Joel and Karlee (Taylor); her great grandchildren Lincoln and Lyla; and her siblings-in-law Donna Holling (late Bill), Joyce Clark (John), and Dan Apthorp (late Nettie). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other extended family. In memory of Mary Lou, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities – Southwestern Ontario or the Canadian Mental Health Association, both of which she and Jim cherished.
