Maria Cecchetti

Maria Cecchetti of St. Catharines, Ontario, was born on February 22, 1936, and passed away on October 17, 2026, at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her husband, Mario; her parents, Pietro Tesei and Dora (Amelia); her parents-in-law, Pacifico Cecchetti and Armida Boni; and her brothers-in-law, Natale Cecchetti (Elio) of St. Catharines, ON and Guelfo Brancadori. Maria is survived by her children, Pacifico (Lynn), Pietro (Jo-Anne), Gabriela Fritz (Randolph), and Patrizia Marcella (Enio); her grandchildren, Jordan Marcella (Alexandra), Daniel Cecchetti, Steven Cecchetti, Emily Cecchetti-Olise (Ben), Lucas Cecchetti, and Jacob Fritz; her great-grandchildren, Ida and Giovanni Marcella; her siblings, Aurora Tesei (Bracciano), Giovanni (Maria), and Rosina (Luigi); and her sister-in-law, Giuseppina Cecchetti. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A memorial gathering will take place on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the George Darte Funeral Home, located at 585 Carlton St, St. Catharines, ON L2M4Y1. A prayer service will be held on the same day at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. The funeral service will occur on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Alfred's Church, located at 272 Vine St, St. Catharines, ON L2M4T3. An entombment will follow from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, located at 431 Queenston St, St. Catharines, ON L2P2Y3. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Maria's memory to Radio Maria Canada or the National Catholic Broadcasting Council, which produces the Daily TV Mass.
