Kimiko (Kim) HORNE

Kimiko (Kim) Horne passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on May 5, 1933, in Nagoya, Japan, Kim was the beloved wife of McAllister Horne, whom she married in Scotland in 1961. She was the loving mother of Janet (Charles) Cozens, and cherished 'Bucky' to her grandson Robert, whom she loved and adored. Kim immigrated to Canada in 1964 and proudly became a Canadian citizen. She worked as a teacher's aide at various schools in Ontario, with her final position at Brock University, where she taught Japanese. An avid Scottish country dancer, Kim traveled extensively to participate in dance events around the world and even devised several dances that became popular within the community. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation Dyslexia Learning Centre for Children - Niagara would be greatly appreciated by the family. A Funeral Service for Kim will take place on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines, at 3 p.m.
