Derek Cobey

Derek Cobey, a resident of Chatham, Ontario, was born on June 29, 1980, and died on July 29, 2026, at the age of 46. He was predeceased by his father, James Cobey, and his stepfather, Robert Foster. He is survived by his mother, Debra Cobey (St Pierre); his brother, Brent; his daughter, Shelbi Suitor-Cobey; his grandparents, Roger and Delores Papps; his stepsiblings, Becky Foster and Ryan Foster (Angie); his niece, Everest Cobey; a close friend, Beau; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Visitation took place on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 100 McNaughton Avenue West, Chatham, ON N7L 1R3, followed by a memorial service at the same location at 7:00 p.m. Families may send flowers and condolences in his memory.
