Georgina 'Georgie' Duncan Howard (née Chinnery) passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, at the age of 97. Born in Toronto, Ontario, Georgie was one of eight children and spent most of her years in Ancaster, where she built a life rooted in community and friendship. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bruce. Georgie will be deeply missed by her son John and daughter Patricia, as well as her cherished grandchildren, David Gray Boyko and Kate Howard. A devoted member of St. Ann's Church, Georgie was actively involved in the Women's Auxiliary and gave generously of her time to her community. She was also an avid bridge player and a familiar, friendly presence in numerous bridge clubs throughout Ancaster. Georgie worked as a medical secretary at the Mohawk College Health Clinic alongside Nurse Diana Nelles, where she was known for her dedication and kind, steady nature. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Carington Place Retirement Residence and St. Peter's Hospital for their compassionate care, kindness, and support. A Mass will be offered in Georgina's memory on Wednesday, April 29, at 8:00 a.m. and on Tuesday, May 19, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Parish, Ancaster. In lieu of flowers, donations in Georgina's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society.
