Gene Chikaz

Gene Chikaz of Amherstburg, Ontario, passed away on August 10, 2026, at the age of 88. He was born on June 5, 1938. Predeceased by his wife Alice, his siblings Mary Finn, Beatrice Crepp and Steve Csikasz, and his brothers‑in‑law Ronald Cadarette and Larry Jones, Gene is survived by his children Debra White and Lynn Bellefleur, his siblings‑in‑law Ernest Cadarette and Marcella Best, and close friend Mary Johnston, as well as eight grandchildren, twenty great‑grandchildren, extended family, nieces, nephews and other friends. Visitation was held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m., both at Families First Amherstburg, 585 Sandwich St S, Amherstburg, ON N9V0E2. Contributions in his memory may be directed to the John McGivney Children’s Centre.
