INESE AKMENS

Inese Akmens passed away on February 3, 2026, at the age of 82. She was the devoted wife of Ansis Seminovs for 57 years and a cherished mother to Erik and Peter. Inese leaves behind her grandchildren, Leo, Aleksander, and Odrija, as well as her daughters-in-law, Ilze Seminova and Kimberly Neil. As a chemistry teacher, Inese inspired generations of students at Jarvis Collegiate Institute for over four decades. She also served as an organizer, leader, and mentor at the St. John's Latvian Lutheran summer church camp, Saulaine. Inese will be remembered for her wisdom, generosity, and dedication to education, feminism, and community. Donations to the Alliston & District Humane Society in tribute to her love for dogs would be appreciated.
