Douglas Sawyer

Douglas Sawyer, a resident of Alliston, Ontario, was born on March 18, 1942, in Scarborough, Ontario, and died on August 4, 2026, at the age of 84. He was predeceased by his father Bruce, his mother Margaret, his half‑brother Gordon Sawyer (who was married to Joan), and his significant other Nancy F. He is survived by his sister Linda Sawyer‑Woods (married to George), his niece Laura Woods (married to Joel), great‑nieces Keava and Islie, nephew Evan Woods (married to Melissa), great‑niece Violet, niece Rae Ann Sawyer, nephew Todd Sawyer, and cousins Shirley Hutchings and Barbara McCallum. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the W. John Thomas Funeral Home, 244 Victoria Street East, Alliston, ON L9R 1K4. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Canadian Blood Services or to a hospice/palliative‑care organization.
