Michael John Orford passed away on June 4, 2026, at the age of 84, at Matthews House Hospice in Alliston, ON. He was born on October 3, 1941, in Hampstead, England, to Frank and Joan Orford, both deceased. The family moved to Canada in 1949, where he attended school and began his career with Dominion Stores Limited in the Toronto area, retiring in 2012. He enjoyed various hobbies, including skiing, golfing, photography, cottaging, and travel. Michael is survived by his sons Richard and Leigh, his grandson Haiden, his sister Pat, predeceased by her husband, his brother Chris and wife Jan, sister Barb Hacker and husband Dave, and sister Suzie McQueen and husband Gord. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews, including Karl, Kevin, Christopher, Nick, Elliot, Jamie, Jesse, Chrystal, Julian, Camille, and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. Additionally, he leaves behind his Aunty Liz in Toronto, cousins in Canada, the U.S., and England, and his dogs, Lola and Misty, who have been adopted. Michael was cremated, and a Celebration of his Life will be held on his birthday, October 3, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Lampstand Bolton Christian Church in Bolton, ON. Memorial donations to a charity of choice are welcomed.
