WILLIAM "BILL" THOMSON
William 'Bill' Thomson passed away on February 26, 2026, at the age of 91, after a brief illness at Ajax Pickering Hospital. He was the loving husband of Corinne (nee Turner) for over 67 years. Bill was a devoted and loving father of Steven (Katherine), Susan (late Roger), and Stuart (Andrea). He loved and always had a keen interest in the accomplishments of his grandchildren Estella, Arena, Megan, Kayla, and Melissa and was a close and loving brother to Tom and sister-in-law Glenda (predeceased). Bill cherished being an uncle to Debbie (Bob) and Sandra of Bowmanville and Wayne (Anne-Therese) of Toronto, as well as several grandnieces and nephews. Bill was also a lifelong friend to the Andrews, Beesley, Davey and Steadman families. He was an active chapter member of Probus Pickering and a 17-year member of the Pickering Recreation Centre. Bill was particularly proud of his over 50 years of membership in Alcoholics Anonymous, always willing to help others achieve sobriety. Together, Bill and Corinne were happiest with family, including holidays and cruising. Many of Bill's fondest memories were of time spent at the Andrews cottage in Pointe-au-Baril. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ajax Pickering Hospital Foundation, Crohn's & Colitis Canada, or the charity of your choice. A visitation for family and friends will take place on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McEachnie Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with a reception to immediately follow at the McEachnie Family Centre. Interment will be at Pine Hills Cemetery in Scarborough following the reception.
