He was predeceased by his parents, William and Helen Brownlee. Alan is survived by his children, Andrew and Heather; their mother, Barbara; his sister, Moira (Mark); his nephew, Mark (Meghan); and his niece, Jessica (Devon). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
